 Hove Edge legally became part of the Parish of Brighouse in 1894 and St. Chad’s Mission Church and School were built and opened in May 1895. In 1915 the present church was opened and the former building became St. Chad’s School.
St. Chad’s Church was licensed for weddings in1981and was granted parochial status in 1988.
In 1985 discussions were held to form a Team Parish comprising St. Martin’s and St. Chad’s and in due course St. John’s, Clifton. In 2006 significant re-ordering of the church building incorporated access facilities, a moveable screen to create a meeting room, a kitchen for the service of drinks and light refreshments and storage facilities.
